Islamabad (Daily Pakistan Online) A proposal to increase the petroleum levy in the upcoming budget has come forward.

According to private TV "Samaa News", the petroleum levy is proposed to be increased from Rs.50 to Rs.60 per liter in the budget 2023-24. An increase of 10 rupees in the levy is estimated to generate 870 billion rupees. 20 percent increase in salaries and a 25 to 30 percent increase in pension is proposed.

In the new budget, it is proposed to allocate 780 billion rupees for pension, in the current financial year, 609 billion rupees were set aside for pension payment.

It has been reported that the government has decided to increase opportunities for vocational training and technical skills for the youth. Modern training courses will be conducted for the youth in all four provinces.
