According to "Jeo News", Chairman of Higher Education Commission (HEC) Mukhtar Ahmed has said that government universities are currently facing financial difficulties. It has been written to the Chief Minister that the universities should contribute to the budget, the budget of HEC has not been increased for 6 years. 30 to 40 new universities have been created but the budget is the same, the salaries of university employees have increased by 100% in 6 years.

The chairman of HEC further said that if HEC is to be formed at the provincial level, then the higher education department should be closed. There is no need to create HEC at the provincial level, the financial burden will increase.
